Spaces at Wayanad

Breaking barriers between inside and outside

Designs from afar…made in Wayanad

Rubáiyát was designed by architects Rex and Alexander Lalire as a space that embraces cross-ventilation and natural light while communicating seamlessly with the tropical landscape outside.

Locally Sustainable

Rubáiyát is built with an almost entirely indigenous palette of materials. Approximately 80% of the structure by weight is made of materials sourced within a 300 Km radius of the site. The outhouse building is constructed with materials reclaimed from a previous structure that stood on site.

Sadahalli Granite: 300 Km

Laterite Masonry : 90 Km

Terracota roof tiles (90 Km)

Teak Accents (90 Km)

Clean lines and open spaces

The structure consists of three pavilions, each positioned perpendicularly to the next, enhancing the connection to the surrounding estate and removing barriers between home and outdoors.
